Great movie quotes are those that are remembered days, weeks, months and years after the film has been released. The best quotes are those that can be uttered anywhere in the world and you know instantly which film it’s been taken from. Do you know which we mean?
If you’ve been sat there crossing your fingers for the latest instalment of our greatest movie quotes of all time series, then you’re in luck! Sit back and relax as we take you from 70-61 on our ultimate movie quote countdown!
(And if you have no idea what we are talking about, go check out part one, two and three right now)
70. “How do you like them apples?” – Good Will Hunting (1997)
The line is said by Will after he gets the number of the girl that he fancies. He’s teasing his friend who also fancied this same girl! It’s obviously meant to annoy the receiver of the news, but we just find it amusing!
69. “I volunteer! I volunteer as tribute” – The Hunger Games (2012)
Who can forget poor Katniss uttering this line after her sister is chosen to compete in the Hunger Games? She would rather sacrifice herself then let her sister die. It’s a dramatic moment in the film that might have surprised a few non readers!
68. “I want to play a game” – Saw (2004)
Creepy! This line is how serial killer Jigsaw greets his victims via a sound recording before forcing them into a situation that will either kill or seriously harm them. Such a lovely man!
67. “If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you.” – Taken (2008)
We think this might be one of the most popular movie quotes ever! Said by Liam Neeson in Taken after his daughter is kidnapped, he definitely made good on his promise. Let’s not pretend that you haven’t said this line at some point whilst going about your daily lives. If our quotes were in order, this would probably be 1 but since we’re not being biased…
66. “Good morning, and in case I don’t see ya; good afternoon, good evening, and good night!” – The Truman Show 1998)
This line is repeated throughout the film, which is fitting for the theme of the film. Truman thinks he has a good life, until he realises he is living a fake one, in which he is on a TV Show that everyone knows about expect him! Every day is the same thing and he begins to realise that things aren’t what they seem.
65. “E.T. Phone home.” – E.T. (1982)
He just really wanted to go home guys! Such a sad moment in the film.
64. “May the Force be with you” – Star Wars (1977)
If you’ve never heard this quote, or you’ve never watched Star Wars…we don’t know what to say? But it’s definitely one of the greatest movie quotes.
63. “Why are you trying so hard to fit in when you were born to stand out?” – What a Girl Wants (2003)
Some brilliant advice to take away from a film that wasn’t that good. No one said that great quotes had to come from great films, right?
62. “The truth is… I gave my heart away a long time ago, my whole heart… and I never really got it back.” – Sweet Home Alabama (2002)
We love a happy ending, and this quote was followed by such an ending! Once you give your heart away, can you ever give it someone else? Melanie would say no!
61. “You can’t lose someone you never had” – How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days (2003)
Wise words. This film might not be Oscar worthy, but we find it hilarious! And this is just one of many good lines in the movie.
