We know you’ve been waiting with bated breath for this month’s instalment of our Witty, Wise & Wonderful greatest quotes series. Therefore we won’t bore you with the small talk – enjoy! (And if you have no idea what we’re talking about, check out part one and two).
80. “Why so serious? “ – The Dark Knight (2008)
Equally chilling and amazing, this line uttered by the Joker is incredibly eerie yet sums up his character as a whole.
79. “Get busy living, or get busy dying” – The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
Andy Dufresne’s little nugget of advice to Red has always stuck with us ever since first watching the movie. It’s both inspirational and a little sad.
78. “Love means never having to say you’re sorry” – Love Story (1970)
We’re not sure this is true, but it sounds romantic right? We suggest apologising if you’re in the wrong though.
77. “Some people are worth melting for” – Frozen (2013)
This quote hits us right in the feels. When Olaf the snowman tells Anna she is worth melting for as they sit in front of the fire, thinking she’s going to die, it made us tear up a little bit. Okay a lot.
76. “The seaweed is always greener in somebody else’s lake” – The Little Mermaid (1989)
Wise wise words (well lyrics) from our favourite little crab. We love his little spin on the classic “grass is always greener” quote as he tries to persuade Ariel to give up her human obsession.
75. “I see dead people” – The Sixth Sense (1999)
A line that manages to creep us out so much deserves to be on our list of greatest quotes. We think even those who haven’t seen the film, have probably heard this line before.
74. “Go ahead, make my day” – Sudden Impact (1983)
You’ll find this on many greatest quotes lists, and rightly so! The line is said twice in the film, both times by Clint Eastwood’s character, and both times as he’s aiming his gun at a criminal who is holding a woman at gunpoint.
73. “I wish I knew how to quit you” – Brokeback Mountain (2005)
Ahhh sob. Brokeback Mountain broke our heart and this quote is probably the most memorable from the whole film. We’re welling up now.
72. “Harry Potter. The boy who lived, come to die” – Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part Two (2011)
We’re thankful that he didn’t actually die, but we still love this line. It’s pretty scary when uttered by Lord Voldemort.
71. “I am Groot” – Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
Used throughout the film, this line is Groot’s way of communicating with people. It actually has different meanings. Aw we love Groot!
