It’s been a while since we last wrote a post for our greatest kickass female characters series, so we apologise if you felt like we had forgotten about it.
The good news is that we haven’t! The even better news? We have a brand new and shiny part three for you to delve into. We’ve previously looked at 6 pretty badass women, so we start this post with kickass lady number 7!
7. Annalise Keating (How to Get Away With Murder)
You might be highly anticipating Viola Davis’s portrayal of Amanda Waller in the upcoming DC blockbuster Suicide Squad (thanks Comic Con!), but we want to celebrate the character that she plays on the hit new show How to Get Away With Murder.
The show follows Viola as Annalise Keating, a law professor and criminal defence attorney who is known for successfully winning most of her cases. She chooses 5 students from her class every year that will follow her around and assist her on cases – and basically wish that they were her.
So what makes Annalise worthy of a place on our list? She isn’t strong in the traditional sense of being physically tough, she’s emotionally and mentally strong. She’s cocky, she’s manipulative and she will do whatever it takes to protect herself at all costs.
If you haven’t seen this show, it’s definitely worth a watch – there has only been one season so far!
8. Felicity Smoak (Arrow)
If you’re a fan of the TV show Arrow, then it’s very likely that you will be a fan of Felicity Smoak. Whilst the TV show is based on the DC comics Green Arrow, Felicity Smoak is not a character that you will recognise from there – she’s an original character. Brought in as a guest star, she was bumped up to a series regular due to her chemistry with her co-stars and the charm she brought to a character that was meant to be in one scene.
Just like with many women in our kickass women series, Felicity isn’t physically strong. Whilst other characters are out kicking butt, Felicity is kicking butt on the computers – a super intelligent hacker and all round computer whizz. She’s relatable to other women in the fact that she’s smart, funny, and emotional and she doesn’t always make the right decisions. However, she’s always there for the people she loves and she’s proved herself to be the heart of the team on several occasions.
We dare you to watch Arrow and not fall in love with Felicity Smoak!
That’s all we have time for today, but keep checking back as we will be revisiting this series soon! If you missed part one, and part two – be sure to check them out!
We bet you’re dying to check out these ladies in action now right? Well before you go rushing off to purchase the DVDS, why not treat yourself to a new TV so that you can enjoy watching them in style?
