Sky have described ‘Sky Q’ as being the “next-generation home entertainment system;” offering customers a whole new way to experience TV.
It can be connected to two other systems within your home, as well as two additional tablets, meaning that it can be enjoyed on up to 5 screens in your house! This will definitely save the arguments over who is watching what!
Having been available since the end of February, we’ve had time to navigate our way around the new system; learning everything we need to know in order to share with all of you. We want you to get the most out of your new box!
Double Vision
As we said earlier, Sky Q can pull content from the main box to any tablet within your own home. This isn’t streamed from the internet, so you don’t have to panic about getting any of the frustrating buffering or lapse in time. However, it does mean that you can enjoy watching two different things at the same time – who doesn’t want this feature?
Fast-Forward & Rewind Quickly
One of the most annoying aspects of the standard sky box is being limited to a measly 2x fast forward and rewind speed. If you’re trying to go quite a way forward or back, this can be painstakingly slow. Luckily, the Sky Q system offers you the perfect solution. Simply keep on pressing the fast forward and rewind button and watch the speed jump up to 30x the speed.
Everyone has undoubtedly experienced the pain of losing or “misplacing” the TV remote. It always goes the same way; you blame everyone else and turn the room upside down until you realise that you took it into the bathroom with you by mistake. These days are now over with Sky Q. If you happen to lose your remote, you can simply activate a button on the main box, which will then make the remote start beeping until you find it!
Restore Something You Accidently Deleted
Accidents happen. Sometimes they are something as simple as spraining your ankle and sometimes they are something as scary as deleting the finale of your partners favourite TV show. We know which one we would prefer! However, with Sky Q, you don’t have to worry about how you’re going to break the news. Sky Q stores your deleted items in a separate place until you confirm that you definitely want it deleted. This means you can go into this section and save the show you accidently deleted. You do so by scrolling to the show you want to restore and swiping the “undelete” option. Phew!
